Wildlife Warriors and our incredible supporters came together on Saturday night to celebrate the life and legacy of the world’s greatest Wildlife Warrior, Steve Irwin. It was truly an evening unlike any other.
The star-studded line up included some of the nearest and dearest friends of Australia Zoo including, Rove McManus, Darren Percival, Ranger Stacey Thompson, Police Commissioner Ian Stewart, Daniel and Sarah Merrett, Lisa Origliasso, Ellie Gonsalves, Val Lehman, and of course, our amazing Wildlife Warriors Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell. Stunning native and exotic wildlife also roamed the event getting guests up close and personal with some of our beautiful wildlife family from Australia Zoo.
The Steve Irwin Gala Dinner, now in its 11th year, helps raise much needed funds for the Wildlife Warriors conservation projects here in Australia and across the world. These projects range from the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, to cheetah conservation in South Africa, to comprehensive croc research in Far North Queensland, all the way through to protecting tigers from poachers in Sumatra.
It was Steve's mission in life to create a world where people and wildlife could live harmoniously alongside one another, and we love that all of our amazing Wildlife Warriors are helping us keep Steve’s dream alive!
